ABOUT LAKOTA Aluminum Construction 7 + 2 + 1 Warranty Types of Trailers The Lakota Difference History & People Print Page |
All Aluminum Built Strong Confidence as strong as the aluminum components used to build each Lakota Trailer. Frame: Our chassis is built with 4 X 2.66 6061-T6 structural aluminum I-beams on maximum 16 centers welded to industry leading 4.312 X 2 side rails ... all before adding an outer extruded van-rail, making for stronger construction than most trailers on the market. Floor: The interlocking tongue and groove extruded aluminum floor planking has 1/8 walls and solid 3/8 thick risers making it 20% thicker than the industry standard. Sidewalls: The sidewalls are constructed of tubular aluminum versus the C-Channel construction that many other manufacturers use, making it 33% stronger than the industry standard. The walls have 1½ thick foam insulation, giving them an increased r-value 33% greater than that of our competitors. Doors: Our rear and feeder doors use industry leading 3/8 thick extruded aluminum for the strap hinges and have an exclusive integrated door frame making them the strongest doors in the industry. Roof: The roof is constructed of extruded aluminum roof rails with .150 wall thickness and welded to a 1½ X 2½ X .125 aluminum sidewall header. The roof is supported using 1 X 2½ roof bows. Compare the specifications of our construction below to that of our competitors. You will find that our attention to detail in creating a strong, durable and safe trailer far exceeds others in the industry.
