My name is Ally and I’m a barrel racer. I’ve been riding since I was 4 and a half and have been barrel racing for a few years now. I have won reserve champion at the NC State Fair, I’ve competed and won many awards at CCBR as well (and more to come). I do local shows as of right now (2017) due to me training my horse Cowboy. (I’ve had Cowboy since he was born as we owned his dam). When I was younger I did more in-hand showmanship and just riding around the farm, maybe 4 years ago I started to get into English. I did cross country, hunter seat, jumping, dressage, and some English pleasure. I switched to barrel racing as I love the speed and the sport. I still jump sometimes with Cowboy, but right now we are focusing a lot on learning the pattern and getting him to more shows. My inspirations are definitely Fallon Taylor and Mary Burger. Fallon Taylor is so outgoing and whenever I have a bad day, with cowboy or school, I just look at her snapchats and they cheer me up. She has made me realize I need to set goals for myself and strive to achieve them. Her fitness journey is also outstanding and inspires me more than ever to care about my self!
