Specific Styles: Western Pleasure
Primary Horse’s Name: “Special Forecast “Sully””

“My name is Blayre Barnum and I am from a small Northeast Texas town called Naples. I have been competing since I was 10 years old. I started with barrels and poles then moved on to rodeo queen competitions. In the few years I ran for rodeo queen titles I had the privilege of winning three titles. It was not until 2011 that I started showing APHA horses, I decided I was more of a better fit in the western pleasure saddle or english saddle than in a barrel racing saddle. I am also apart of Phi Theta Kappa and currently going to college to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.

My biggest role model is Mashell Daniels, she is always so relaxed while showing and has the best sportsmanship of anyone I have seen. She always has goals that she wants to accomplish no matter how long it may take or challenging it may be. She also points out and helps try to fix all the tiny flaws I might have while showing. She is one of the ladies who made it possible to win multiple top 3 in several classes from 2011-2017 which included halter, showmanship, english and western rail classes along with english and western pattern classes. I was also able to win the 2013 13-18 Hunt County Horseman’s Association year end Highpoint award along with the 2016 HCHA scholarship. Special Forecast is my current show partner and I would not be the person or competitor I am today with out him.”
