“My name is Makayla Kleiber and I am from Black Creek, WI. I graduated from Shiocton High School in 2016. I am currently attending Fox Valley Technical College pursuing a degree in practical nursing with hopes of graduating in May of 2018.
I got my first horse at the age of 10 and he has since taught me everything I know today. Training him from being a pleasure horse to a barrel horse was one of the hardest challeneges I’ve had to face but I wouldn’t go back and change a thing. He has since qualified me for NBHA Youth World 5 years in a row, placed top 5 for year end awards in multiple divisions, and carried me to my dream of becoming a rodeo queen. He has since slowed down in his old age and is now enjoying retirement with occasional trail rides, lesson students, and green pastures!
Just as retirement goes, someone else had to step up. “Sugar Bo Hancock” (a.k.a. Alice), has been my main mount since Shylo’s retirement. She is a 6 year old quarter horse that I purchased in Spring of 2015. She has consistently been placing in the 2D and 3D, ran at youth world, entered at state finals, entered her first rodeo, and has given me more faith and confidence in a horse than ever before. I am beyond excited to see where barrel racing takes her once she’s finished out!”
