I would like to take a moment to introduce myself; my name is Margaret Sonnenberg, I am 20 years old and currently enrolled at MGCCC as a full-time student. I compete in barrel racing and have been barrel racing and riding horses ever since I can remember. If there is a show, I try to compete ever weekend. I am an active member of the NBHA, my district if MS06. I have been a member since 2009 and have been lucky enough to have qualified for Open World every year as well as Youth World. My 3 biggest accomplishments would be; the very first year I competed in NBHA local shows I qualified for Open World. I was fortunate enough to be able to take a week out of school to compete in Augusta, GA. I qualified back for the short go in the first round and also placed in the finals. Second, I have qualified for NBHA Open World as well as Youth World every year since. Each year I have competed at World, I have made it back to the finals. I have also competed on local levels at open horse shows winning multiple saddles as well as other awards over the past several years. Finally, I have purchased my first “project” horse. This yearling was purchased at the Louisiana Bred Yearling Sale. I personally trained this mare and recently sold her as a 1D horse. My goals for 2017 are to never quit trying and to continue to practice until it is perfect
