My name is Sabrina Silvas and I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old. I began competing in local gymkhanas then moved onto 4H where I was entered in classes from trail and western pleasure to barrel racing and goat tying. I started competing in local barrel races when I was 12. I have won 6 saddles in local association: Cowboys and Cowgirls Open Barrel Racing Association, and Southern Arizona Barrel Racing Association. I then moved onto Arizona High School Rodeo my junior year. I placed 8th in poles after just six months of rodeo. I was lucky to be invited to the Silver State International Rodeo in 2012 and received Reserved Champion Pole Bender. My senior year, I placed 6th in the state in poles and was then invited to the Panguitch, Utah Invitational Rodeo and placed first in all 3 rounds and received Champion Pole Bender of 2013. After I graduated, I was lucky to compete in one year of Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association but college got in the way and I went back to just local races. Since then, my barrel/pole horse has passed but with some help from others around me, I’ve trained my filly (Holli) in barrels are we are kicking this year off on a good start. Holli is registered AQHA and is a beautiful red roan mare who loves to be loved on and her job!
